On site we provide microscope evaluation of cells, comprehensive blood chemistry panels, urine sediment analysis, tick borne disease and viral testing. All of our clinicians have advanced training in cytology, which is the study of cells under a microscope. This allows us to better understand and treat a myriad of skin problems including parasitic infection; to rapidly diagnose cancers through minimally invasive fine needle aspirate; and to evaluate complete blood counts and cellular morphology. We pride ourselves on our ability to use this important technique and also know when to send slides out to the experts in clinical pathology at Idexx laboratory.
For pre-anesthetic blood work in a same day procedure or for sick pets, we are able to run blood panels to assess internal organ function and screen for diseases such as kidney or liver problems. We have a state of the art urine analyzer in order to rapidly diagnose urinary tract infections and other urine abnormalities. We can test your pet's tick borne disease status or heartworm status in a matter of minutes and give you a piece of mind when it comes to diseases such as feline leukemia and feline aids.
