History

Greenfield Animal Hospital was established by Dr. Thomas Marsh in 1980. A Connecticut native, Dr. Marsh was attracted to the Greenfield Hill area by his father in law, who owned and operated the corner market, which at the time was called the Greenfield Hill Food Store. The Marsh family moved to Greenfield Hill and raised three children in the area. In 1990, the town granted permission to expand the veterinary hospital, which was originally a gas station. Dr. Marsh added two exam rooms, an office, and the front lobby which significantly enhance the patient and client experience. Over the coming decades Dr. Marsh worked tirelessly to serve pets in our area and build an outstanding practice with a great reputation.

One of his sons, Dr. Andrew Marsh, followed in his father’s footsteps and graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. He married his wife, Dr. Katherine King, who is also a veterinarian and pursued an internship at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. In 2014, Dr. Andrew Marsh joined the hospital proudly practicing alongside his father, and it was the great privilege of his life to work and learn from him. The practice thrived over the coming years, but was increasingly running out of physical space.

In 2020, Dr. Andrew Marsh acquired the practice following Dr. Thomas Marsh’s retirement, and his wife, Katie, became the Practice Manager. Dr. Rachel Galluzzo, a passionate and dedicated veterinarian joined the practice and together, Dr. Marsh, Dr. King, and Dr. Galluzzo navigated through the COVID pandemic. Shortly after the start of the pandemic, the hospital was no longer able to accept new clients, lasting over 2.5 years, owing to the lack of physical space and their commitment to their existing clients.

In 2023, through the overwhelming support of the community, we gained approval to build a brand new, state of the art facility at 40 Hillside Road, so that we could continue serving this beloved community for the next 40 years! Doctor Seren Lanza joined the GAH family bringing a new level of seasoned veterinary medicine and top tier services to our clientele. We began accepting new clients again with an eye to the future.

In August 2024, we moved into our new building, which maintains the quaint charm of the original practice, but is better suited to deliver the highest quality medicine and standard of care possible for our very deserving clients and patients. Dr. Emma Curto joined as our fourth general practice veterinarian, rounding out our dream team of associate veterinarians, positioning us for long term success, and giving us the ability to meet the needs of this wonderful, animal loving community.

Through the process of building the new facility, Greenfield Animal Hospital had one additional monumental improvement, which was to add a full time Internal Medicine Service to our hospital. Dr. Megan Morgan, a board-certified Internal Medicine Specialist, and her liaison, Amanda Belton, a Certified Veterinary Technician, joined the team, bringing with them a wealth of knowledge and experience. The Internal Medicine Service provides comprehensive consultations and minimally invasive testing and treatment options, including ultrasound and endoscopy, in order to best diagnose and manage the complex diseases that pets may face.

GAH is proud to be privately owned and operated through the years by the Marsh Family, and we strive to deliver a personal approach to veterinary medicine.
